BEHOLD I AM

In the nativity scene, where are all the people looking? Yes, they all posture themselves to gaze upon Jesus. He is the center of the story here and throughout the entire message of the Bible. In the old testament, Isaiah 7:14 prophesied “the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel" Which means, God with us. Revealing both a human and divine nature.  God promised to send a Savior and He did. That’s why Jesus is the center of the story.

What could happen if we did the same that the people in the nativity scene did? Make Jesus the center of our story? Maybe not the baby Jesus but the grown resurrected Jesus. The one who broke the power of sin and death. The one who opens the door to Heaven and invites all who believe in Him to enter in. John 14:6 It should bring peace to your mind and spirit. The birth of a new hope for a heavy heart that's been weighed down from disappointment and discouragement. He is not surprised by it but longs for you to give the concerns of this world to him. The burden was not meant for you to carry. His presence brings freedom and release from all that you thought you had to do and inspiration for the possibility of something much more.

 Looking to the baby in the manger represents the stance we should have in all our days. Look to the LORD and Savior instead of the problem. Look to the new hope and possibilities he brings. Though we just celebrated his arrival on earth his promise is to one day also to return to bring home all whose hope is in Him. Expect it! Be prepared for and keep watch for it. Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him. Hebrews 9:28

Jesus is the center of the scriptures. The Word made flesh that dwelt among us. John 1:14 Make and keep him the center of your story. Behold, I am coming soon.. Revelation 22:7
